The Role

We are looking for a Function/Events Manager to lead our event offerings and its team across our venue.

This is an opportunity to bring your creative flair, knowledge, and experience to this newly created role, elevating our offering while collaborating with motivated staff to shape our guest’s experience.

You will be responsible for:

  • Promotions of the Renmark Hotel Event services to national audiences (web Page, Face Book 

  • Liaise with clients, vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during event planning.

  • Ensure all function packs are kept up to date and revue annually. 

  • Identify and explore any new Events (ie) Christmas dinners for Businesses, Public events on our terrace space, Corporate events 

  • When not working on functions be involved in the day to day running of Hotel Renmark 

  • Work alongside our marketing and promotions team, on all media platforms

  • Roster event team for each event 

  • Manage booking systems. 

  • Manage event setup, pack down and follow-ups.

  • Establish standardized event procedures and train staff into properly executing them.

  • Build and adhere to an event budget to avoid project overruns.

  • Track event key performance areas and identify items to work on for future events.

  • Leading, supervising, mentoring, and motivating your team.

  • Ensure your team delivers efficient and consistent service.

  • Using systems such as H&L, Hungry Hungry, Now Book It, Word and Email

  • Working within budgets in relation to rosters, sales, products (including costings) and wastage

  • Reporting to the Hotel Renmark Nanya Manager. 

  • Manage OHS & W at all events.

  • Management of marketing and promotion.

  • Management of event budget allocation.

  • Ordering of equipment required for events.

  • Communication of events with leadership team. 

  • Member of the Hotel Renmark Leadership Team.

About you:

  • An engaging personality with exceptional focus on thoughtful customer service

  • A drive to create a career in hospitality.

  • Several years’ experience in the industry

  • Worked in a bar role with cocktails, beer taps and coffees products.

  • Previous experience in management/coordinator roles preferred.

  • A professional attitude to your appearance and work 

  • Creative and innovative. 

  • Exceptional communication and marketing skills. 

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners

  • Experience coordinating large-scale events.

  • Familiarity with event registration software

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.

  • Attention to detail in all aspects of events.
